WhewI What a fun series! Over the last few months, we've had a great time visiting all of our branches – from Grand Haven to Detroit – visiting with Team Lake Trust all over the state, and bringing you a different chance to win a new prize each week.
Today we announced the winner of our final Teller Trivia challenge and just wanted to give a big "Thank you" to all who have played!
From prizes to visit local establishments to winning tickets to events all around Michigan, we've had some great giveaways and a lot of happy prize winners!

Need Senators’ Support on S. 2231

Increase Member Business Lending (MBL)
We’re encouraging credit union members to voice their opinion on Senate Bill S.2231, the credit union small business jobs bill, which would raise credit unions’ ability to lend to small businesses from 12.25% of their total assets to 27.5%.
Credit Unions would like to be able to do more to help small businesses. If these financial cooperatives were allowed an increase in the amount they could lend, an estimated $13 billion in additional funds could be provided to America’s small businesses – which could potentially create more than 140,000 new jobs nationwide.
America’s small businesses are the backbone of our economy and an engine of growth in our nation. While banks are withdrawing credit from small businesses, credit unions would like to be able to lend more – but with more CUs approaching the cap, this growth could be halted.
We’d like to thank Michigan Senators Carl Levin and Deborah Stabenow for supporting this bill. Anyone who lives outside of Michigan – ask your senators’ for their support by calling toll free: 1-877-642-4223 or visiting the Credit Union National Association’s Grassroots Action Center to quickly send a message to your senator.

Lake To Lake Michigan College Scholarships

We are pleased to announce our Lake To Lake Michigan College Scholarship Program, which will award $500 Michigan College Scholarships to three Lake Trust members who are graduating high school seniors.
The scholarships will be awarded to students who exemplify our Lake Trust Values: Trust, Teamwork, Adaptability, Learning, and Making A Difference.
Applications must be submitted by May 15th, 2012. For more information on criteria, guidelines, and selection process, visit our College Scholarships page.
